Skyline leads Region 6 boys golf through eight weeks with a 290.1 stroke average, more than three strokes clear of Brighton (294.0) and Woods Cross (294.4).

Olympus sits fourth at 294.7, according to Deseret News standings published Sept. 28. Brighton, Woods Cross and Olympus are separated by fewer than one stroke, all chasing the defending 5A state champion Eagles.

Perry Shaffer, a Skyline senior, tops the individual leaderboard with a 70.9 stroke average. Olympus sophomore Wyatt Biagi is right behind at 71.0. Two more Skyline golfers rank in the top five: Marcus Davis-Condie at 71.7 and Bodie Green at 73.6.

Brighton's strength is depth. The Bengals have four golfers in the region's top 12: Braden Dunn (74.1), Jack Murray (74.1), Austin Taylor (74.3) and Alex Rogers (74.4). Josh Neff of Olympus rounds out the area presence at 73.9.

At the most recent region tournament Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Mountain View Golf Course, Shaffer shot a 68 and Davis-Condie a 69. Neff matched Davis-Condie with a 69 of his own. Brighton sent five golfers home at 73 or better, led by Liam Alder's 72.

Viewmont's Corver Barnes won the day with a 67, one stroke ahead of Shaffer.

Biagi, who helped Olympus to a 5A state runner-up finish as a freshman last fall, led the Region 6 individual standings as recently as mid-September with a 71.2 average. Olympus coach Matt Barnes praised the sophomore in a Deseret News feature published Sept. 14: "Wyatt has been playing really well the past three tournaments. He works really hard on his game and is playing at a high level."

Shaffer has climbed fast. He finished tied for 25th at the 2025 5A state tournament at TalonsCove Golf Course, where Skyline edged Olympus by one stroke for the championship. Three of Skyline's current top-five region scorers, Shaffer, Davis-Condie and Green, competed on that state title team.

The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) has not announced a date for the 2026 5A state tournament. The 2025 event was held Oct. 7.
