Cottonwood Heights residents face a deadline next week to weigh in on a fence height request, two zoning code changes and a home business permit.
The city has scheduled three public hearings for Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Cottonwood Heights City Hall, 2277 E. Bengal Blvd., according to public notices posted on the city's website. Two separate bodies will hear the items at different times the same day.
Fence variance at noon
Dan and Linda Mandrow are asking the Administrative Hearing Officer for a conditional use permit to build a 7-foot to 7.5-foot fence at 6928 S. Knudsen Mill Circle. The fence would run along the east rear property line and portions of the north and south side property lines, according to the city's notice. The city's notice indicates the standard permitted fence height is 6 feet or less.
That hearing begins at noon in the City Council Chambers.
Parking and short-term rental code changes at 6 p.m.
The Cottonwood Heights Planning Commission will take up two city-initiated zoning text amendments at a 6 p.m. business session. One proposal, filed as ZTA-26-005, would modify Chapter 19.80 of the city's municipal code governing off-street parking requirements. The second, ZTA-26-006, would modify Chapter 19.89, which covers short-term rentals.
The specific changes proposed in each amendment have not been made public yet. Staff reports are expected to be posted by the end of the day Thursday, Oct. 29, on the city's planning commission page. The commission would make a recommendation to the City Council on both items.
Home business permit
Also at the 6 p.m. session, the Planning Commission will consider a conditional use permit request from Sarah Shepherd to operate a home business with clients at 3295 E. Alta Hills Dr.
