A house fire near the Murray/Holladay border on Sunday morning, Nov. 1, left one family displaced after flames significantly damaged their home in an unincorporated area of Salt Lake County.

Crews from Unified Fire Authority and Murray City Fire Department responded after a call came to dispatch at about 7 a.m., according to a Unified Fire statement reported by Gephardt Daily.

The fire broke out near 1100 East El Monte Drive, between Murray and Holladay, KUTV reported.

Firefighters found the home already heavily involved in fire when they arrived. Crews launched what Unified Fire called "an aggressive fire attack" and knocked down the flames before they could spread to nearby properties, according to the agency's statement.

No injuries were reported.

The family living in the home was displaced because of the extent of the damage, according to KUTV.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Unified Fire said.

Residents who witness a fire or other emergency should call 911. Non-emergency fire safety concerns can be reported to Unified Fire Authority through Salt Lake County dispatch.
