Skyline's defending state champions opened the 2026 boys golf season right where they left off, tying Woods Cross atop the Region 6 standings after the first tournament Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Mountain Dell Canyon Golf Course.

The Eagles are back.

Skyline and Woods Cross each posted a team score of 294, according to the Deseret News. Brighton came in third at 303, and Olympus finished fourth at 310.

Marcus Davis-Condie led all local golfers with a 70 at Mountain Dell Canyon, finishing second overall in the region behind only Woods Cross's Lincoln Henriksen, who fired a 68. Teammate Perry Shaffer carded a 72 to place fifth in the field.

Bodie Green (75) and Franklin Peterson (77) rounded out Skyline's scoring quartet.

Brighton's Austin Taylor posted a 73, tying for sixth in the region. Jack Murray added a 75 and Sam Lish a 77 for the Bengals.

For Olympus, Wyatt Biagi shot a 75 and Jake Neff turned in a 77.

The results mark a strong opening for Skyline, which won its second consecutive 5A state championship in October 2025, edging Olympus by a single stroke at Talons Cove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs. Austin Shelley, who won the individual medalist title in a playoff at that state tournament, does not appear in the 2026 lineup, leaving Davis-Condie and Shaffer to anchor the Eagles' title defense.

The seven-team Region 6 field this year includes Skyline, Brighton, Olympus, Woods Cross, Viewmont, Alta and Bountiful. Woods Cross and Bountiful joined the region from Region 5 under the current UHSAA alignment.
