The Cottonwood Heights City Council will vote Tuesday, Sept. 15, on transferring Fire Station 110 to Salt Lake County.

Resolution 2026-65, which would approve an interlocal cooperation agreement for the conveyance of the station at 1790 Fort Union Blvd., was added to the amended agenda Monday, Sept. 14. City Recorder Tiffany Janzen posted the change. The station is currently operated by the Unified Fire Authority.

The agenda does not detail the financial terms or rationale for the transfer. The full text of the interlocal agreement has not been made public.

The fire station vote joins four zoning ordinances and a noise camera discussion on the council's schedule.

Noise cameras on the table

Before the evening vote, Mayor Gay Lynn Bennion and state Rep. John Arthur of House District 41 will lead a 20-minute work session on noise camera legislation scheduled for 4 p.m. Arthur attended the city's Jan. 9 pre-legislative breakfast, where noise was among the legislative priorities discussed.

No details on what the proposed legislation would require or where cameras might be placed appear in the meeting packet.

Zoning votes carry over

The council will consider four zoning-related ordinances. Ordinance 475 would rezone 2.77 acres at 7030 S. Park Centre Drive from Office, Research and Development to Regional Commercial. The applicant is Alex Fleischman of AWA, acting on behalf of property owner DP Investors, LLC. The site currently houses Dynatronics Corporation, a medical supply company.

A paired measure, Ordinance 476, would amend development standards in the Regional Commercial zone under Chapter 19.40 of the city code. Planning Commission staff recommended approval of the Park Centre Drive rezone, finding it consistent with the property's mixed-use land designation and surrounding zoning.

Ordinance 477 would rezone 1.11 acres at 2196 E. 6450 South, owned by Jordan and Brooke Brady, from Rural Residential to Residential Single-Family. Ordinance 478 would amend the General Plan designation for property the agenda lists at 2196 E. 6950 South from Rural Residential to Residential Low Density. The Planning Commission held public hearings on all four items Sept. 2. The commission's recommendations had not been published as of Monday.

Other business

The work session also includes a 100-minute general plan presentation led by Community and Economic Development Director Jim Spung, conducted jointly with the Planning Commission. Council Member Suzanne Hyland will lead a discussion on youth service on city committees.

On the consent calendar, Robby Russo is listed for authorization to attend a Sister City celebration in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea. The council will also consider reappointing Susie Yanling Shi to the Arts Council Committee.
