Cottonwood senior Turner Hamel ran a 16:25.2 to place fourth in the boys race at the 4A Region 10 cross country championships.

The meet was held at the Cottonwood Complex in Holladay, drawing eight boys teams and seven girls teams from across the region. Hamel was the top individual finisher from an area school, trailing only Jordan senior Isaac Brande (15:47.3), Jordan sophomore Benji Anderson (15:54.7) and Park City senior Sam LaBrin (15:54.9).

Jordan was dominant on the boys side. The Beetdiggers placed three runners in the top five and won the team title with 31 points, according to results reported by the Deseret News. Judge Memorial (77), Juan Diego (85) and Park City (89) followed. Cottonwood finished fifth with 111 points, ahead of Highland (130), Murray (190) and East (252).

Jordan junior Ethan Johnson rounded out the top five in 16:32.3. Murray sophomore Andrew Cameron placed 11th in 16:50.6.

Highland won the girls team title with 30 points, edging Park City by two.
