Olympus High School senior Adria Favero won the Park City Twilight cross country race and earned statewide athlete-of-the-week recognition, capping a statement performance as she enters her final season as one of 5A's top runners.

The Deseret News named Favero its Week 4 girls cross country athlete of the week on Monday, Aug. 24, after she crossed the finish line at Quinn's Junction in 18:10.40, 13 seconds ahead of Riverton's Isabel Preston.

It was the kind of dominant showing that has defined Favero's career at the Holladay school. She has placed in the top four at the 5A state championship meet every year since arriving as a freshman: second in 2023, third in 2024 and fourth at the Oct. 29, 2025, state meet with a time of 18:27.72.

"Adria Favero is such a dedicated athlete … We are so fortunate to have her leading our team. She's a fierce competitor, who is so passionate about running and is fully committed to the sport," Olympus coach Chris Humbert said in the Deseret News feature. "She's always learning and has demonstrated that she doesn't let setbacks get her down, she stays positive, and she comes out stronger."

Humbert has coached Favero through injuries and roster turnover. In an October 2025 season preview, he noted she "has worked hard through injuries to be consistently one of the very best in Utah."

The Titans have program momentum to build on, though the path hasn't been smooth. Olympus won the Region 6 girls title in 2024, described at the time as the program's first region championship ever, clinched by a single point. The team did not repeat in 2025, finishing second in Region 6 with 68 points behind Viewmont's 31. Favero placed second individually at the region meet (17:24.6) behind Brighton's Bridget Smit. At the state championship, Olympus finished sixth as a team (212 points) while Favero took fourth behind winner Lily Alder of Timpview (17:27.74).

Now a senior, Favero leads a squad looking to reclaim the region crown and improve at state. The 5A state cross country championship is expected in late October based on last year's schedule at Sugar House Park, though no official 2026 date has been announced.

Favero's next tests come in regular-season meets as Region 6 competition picks up through September.
